Tote bags are infinitely useful throughout all seasons and make excellent gifts for just about anyone of any age 🙂
I really loved the idea of doing a cloud pattern so I whipped up these charts and got to work!! I think the finished product is absolutely dreamy 🙂
The finished bag measures 14″ x 12″ – the straps are about 33″ long each.
This pattern is worked in a C2C crochet style (CH 6, DC in last 3 CH, CH 6, DC in last 3 CH and SL ST to the corner of first DC cluster below. CH 3, 3 DC in side of DC cluster – repeat to build the size of the panel.) If a more detailed tutorial for this style of crochet is requested, please let me know! I would love to make one if needed for anyone 🙂
I used a pastel blue color for the ‘sky’ background, and a white for the clouds (both in a size 4 medium acrylic yarn). I used a size 5.5 crochet hook.
SL ST – Slip Stitch
CH – Chain
HDC – Half Double Crochet
I SL ST together the two finished squares along the 3 sides (right, bottom, and left), leaving the top side unattached for the opening of the bag.
Attach yarn in 3rd square on the left side (choose back or front panel), CH 100
CH 2 and HDC 100 x 2 rows and SL ST to the 3rd square on the right side of the same panel you started the strap on. Repeat for the other panel so you have 2 straps (1 on each side) 🙂
Have fun getting creative and thanks for checking out my post! ♡- I’d love to see your finished makes – tag me on Instagram!
